Russia will complete the delivery of 100 T-90S tanks to Azerbaijan in the first quarter of 2015 but no new supplies are being considered, Rosoboronexport arms exporting company said on Friday.
Earlier this year, Konstantin Biryulin, deputy head of the Federal Service for Military-Technical Cooperation, told ITAR-TASS that Russia had completed the delivery of 100 T-90S tanks to Azerbaijan in April of this year and as many tanks could be supplied to that country again.
But Esen Topoyev, an adviser to the Rosoboronexport Director-General, told ITAR-TASS that “we have not yet supplied all the vehicles. We have fulfilled the contract by about 60% and we are planning to complete the deliveries in the first quarter of 2015,” he said.
“We have a contract with the Azerbaijani Defense Ministry for 100 pieces [T-90S tanks]. We are completing the contract but no new option or shipment is being considered at the moment,” Topoyev said.
